Meet the BeachTeach Team
BeachTeach was born on the beaches of Bournemouth. Tom and Libby originally ran Beach Schools sessions in an educational setting and are now enjoying bringing these experiences to more children! Both are qualified Level 3 Beach School practitioners, hold specialist Outdoor First Aid certificates, insurance and Enhanced DBS checks. They have a contract with the Hengistbury Head Rangers and the BCP Council to work on the beach around Hengistbury Head.
I love nothing more than being outside and the beach is my favourite place to be! Giving children the opportunity to get outdoors and explore our beaches is a real motivation!
I live with my wife, two children and Labrador and we enjoy venturing into the great outdoors.
I am a primary trained teacher with 8 years experience and a background in outdoor education. I have a passion for getting children away from their screens and into the outdoors. I qualified as a Level 3 Beach Schools practitioner in 2014 and love seeing children engaging with our beaches.
I’m passionate about looking after our environment. My background is in biological sciences and ecology and am keen to share this respect for our coastal habitats with the children that attend our club.
I am thrilled to be part of this venture, having the opportunity to spend time in my favourite place, enthusing and engaging children.
I am married to Rob and we have two children. We lead an active lifestyle, enjoy many outdoor activities together and all love the beach.
As a Speech and Language Therapist with a diploma in Childcare, I have more than 20 years’ experience of working with children in a variety of settings. I am passionate about a holistic approach to childcare and eager to bring a therapeutic slant to the BeachTeach team.
I am very grateful to the Steve Bernard Foundation for supporting me through my level 3 Beach School practitioner training, enabling me to get one step closer to my dream job, working on the beach.
